Is this a good set of clubs?
I am a 14 year old who is a beginner. I am 6'1" and drive the ball 200+ yards. The set I am getting for Christmas is a beginners set for me because I will be too tall for out of the box clubs, so my next set will be fitted.
It comes from Dick's Sporting Goods for $400 but on sale for $199.
It has:
460cc driver (pulled back, NOT square)
3 wood (pulled back, NOT square)
3,4,5 hybrids (pulled back, NOT square)
6-PW cavity irons
Sand Wedge
Putter
Is this good for a beginner?
Do I need any other additional clubs (room for 2)?
For a beginner, that sounds like a great set of clubs.
And I assume by "pulled back" you mean offset, right? Like the head is a bit further back from the shaft?
If so, that's excellent, since beginners are prone to slicing, and offset clubs fix that.
Hybrids are also great for a beginner to have because they're really easy to hit out of rough and fairway bunkers.
All those clubs for 200 bucks is a great deal.
If you're just starting out, you don't NEED any extra clubs, but play the game a bit and see if there's any distances you don't have covered, then go from there to see if you need a new club or not.
