- Does your website achieve what it is supposed to do? If you are an E-Commerce website -  is it generating sales? Or are you generating leads, if that is what you aimed it for.

- Is your website 4 years or older? If yes, then you seriously need to consider redesigning your website immediately.

- Does your website have CMS (Content Management System)? If not, this is a good time to consider having one.

- Do you have a blog? If not, maybe you can think of incorporating one.

- Has your website, that you started several years ago, gone out of control? Has it become difficult to navigate? Too many pages have been added in an ad hoc basis.

OK, by now you must have found out that you do need to redesign your website. Given below are some tips that will help you with redesigning your website:

1. *Target Audience* - Indentify your core target audience. This is key. The direction your website will take depends on your target audience. For example, a website that is branding ‘Designer Watches' to 21 -  34 year male audience, will differ in positioning from a ‘Golf Cart' website that is being marketed to 35 -60 year old males.

2. *USP* - You have come up with your USP (unique selling proposition) and communicate effectively to your target audience. You have 8 secs to capture the attention of a visitor to your site.

3. *Design, Layout, Copy* - Do not focus on an award winning website. Focus on getting an effective website that will convert your visitors to prospective customers.
